ProtoSnap is an interesting “constructor” for a novice electronics engineer.

The sparkfun website has recently presented an interesting project, ProtoSnap, which is something like a designer for electronics enthusiasts, though not for the pros, but for beginners. This is a training kit that allows the novice electronic engineer to practice creating various devices and modules. According to the developers, this kit is ideal for students, inventors, engineers of all kinds. In general, for anyone who is not indifferent to electronics, and wants to independently assemble something. The project has developed three types of ProtoSnap kits.

According to the developers, each kit is distributed assembled, so to speak, ready for use. All that is needed is to learn how to create a program for a ready-made device. After this stage is completed, it is possible to disassemble the kit into its component parts, and do something different, both in terms of hardware and in terms of software.

As mentioned above, three different sets are now being released: ProMini ($ 45), LilyPad Development Platform ($ 60) and LilyPad E-Sewing Kit ($ 20). Each of the kits is intended for a specific purpose, and can help a beginner to gain experience in a particular field. Here is what these kits look like:
