Good news for all owners of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 - the company has released an update to the version of Android 2.3; it is already available for download in Russia.
What does this mean:
- users will have access to applications from the Android Market, requiring versions of Android 2.2 or 2.3 - Multitouch capabilities will expand to work with the menu, browser, etc. - the camera interface remains the same as in the current version of Android 2.1 - this means the preservation of such functions as facial recognition, "capture smiles", etc. - the menu interface became identical to the models of 2011: the principle of 5 desktops was preserved, but a horizontal fixed bar of icons was added at the bottom of the menu (taskbar), a proprietary media preview widget and an equalizer in the media player - Moxier organizer will be replaced by native Gingerbread functionality - Mediascape will be replaced by media videos and music player from the 2011 line. - DRM-keys of the protected content will be lost during the upgrade process - the proprietary backup and recovery system will no longer exist either.

Thus, X10 replenished the composition of Sony Ericsson smartphones on the latest “android” - all the phones of this year belong to it (the “January” Xperia arc was the first of the presented smartphones on Gingerbread). And one more important clarification: the prehistory of the X10 update was quite complex, but, fortunately, there will be no such problems with this year’s innovations - Sony Ericsson promises to fulfill the 18-month minimum of support and updates recommended by Google in full.
