In the city of Chelyabinsk, there is a wonderful Electric Welding Shop "Height 239" owned by OJSC "Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant" and more than once appeared in the lenses of cameras of Internet users.
But few people know that IBM has helped create the asset management, maintenance and repair system involved in the plant. This system was based on
IBM Maximo Asset Management .
The integration of such a product in the management of an enterprise has a very useful feature - compatibility with other enterprise resource planning (
ERP ) systems and production executive systems (
MES ), various products for accounting and management accounting.
')

The use of such a system has a huge impact on the daily existence of serious production, such as “Height 239” (which by the way is the height of the workshop above sea level), which is part of the ChTPZ industrial complex - among the ten largest pipe companies. The entire complex is equipped with high-end equipment from the German company SMS MEER, and therefore the high standard is also set for the software used in the enterprise.
Since it is always very important to efficiently monitor the process and the result of production, the shop is automatically controlled by the procurement system (contracting, electronic registration, cost control), which is intended to achieve a single goal - a competent rationing of spare parts. The system, developed by IBM, simplifies viewing schedules to find the optimal equipment shutdown time and makes it easier to take into account aggregate downtime when analyzing deliveries, as well as its impact on quality and lead time.
The result of all this was the effective localization of emergency situations before they lead to serious disruptions affecting product quality.
