Peer-to-Peer car network

A half-crazy thought was born about how the Network should be arranged.

Accordingly, I share it with you, dear habravchane. It is thought out badly (“fantasy”), but I think you will fix it.

Some assumptions and trends prompted this idea:

1. The development of mobile technologies, the "transition" of the Internet from hospital to laptops, and then to mobile phones and tablets.
2. Infrastructure dependence on the vertical system built by operators.
')
It often happens that the phone is out of range or the call does not work because the tower is overloaded. In addition, tariffs and crazy communication fees are caused by dependence on operators.

And what if you organize a network, like a peer-to-peer mesh-network of cars, in which data is transmitted via Peer-to-Peer. So you can do without an operator. The signal power from the car, the battery capacity of which is incomparable with the telephone, will give transmission over relatively long distances.

In addition, the workload of such a network will depend on the number of people per 1 car. It seems to me that the concentration of cars occurs in crowded places, so that the capacity will correspond to the number of people.

About the fact that within the framework of such a network, cars will be able to exchange information about the situation on the road and control traffic jams, I am generally silent, since this is essentially obvious.

In my opinion, the biggest problem is: how to rebuild the network with a constantly changing topology?
I ask your opinions, but do not judge strictly!

UPD. I will add that we are talking about a rather utopian picture of some future, which I thought would be clear to everyone at once.

You can imagine this naturally in the framework of a city. Establishing "gateways" from this city to the global Internet and using the usual global infrastructure outside of it is not a problem.

Cars will relay the signal, not only during direct use. Plus, do not forget that the potential of the car in terms of signal power is much greater than that of the phone, so the fact that you are alone in a night city on the road does not mean that you are not connected, especially since some cars are parked nearby in the courtyards.

Smart and attentive people in the comments shared information about the real developments on this topic: Automotive Internet and v2v . Thanks to them!
