Microsoft collaborates with Digg

Microsoft has signed a three - year agreement with Digg , under which the software giant becomes the exclusive provider of contextual advertising on a news site.

In addition, the software giant will work with Digg to develop new advertising campaigns using the technology of the site. Microsoft will also work with Federated Media Publishing (the current advertising partner of the news site) to create new programs for site visitors and advertisers.

Now Digg has more than 17 million unique users per month, which is good news for Microsoft, which is trying to increase revenues from online advertising. Judging by Kevin Rose ’s posting on the news site’s blog, Digg is also quite happy with this deal.
