Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the popular Facebook.com website, will be brought to trial today, July 25, as a defendant in the theft of the site’s idea from three of his former Harvard classmates.
The trial of the Zakerberg case has been going on since 2004. A 23-year-old site developer is accused of stealing an idea, a source program and a business plan for Facebook.com. Zuckerberg’s former Harvard classmates claim that Mark stole the idea when they hired him to work as a programmer on their own network, now named ConnectU.com.
Court documents state that Zakerberg registered the thefacebook.com domain on January 11, 2004, 3 days after he sent a letter to his accusers promising to deliver a “functioning web site” for their project. ')
