MS-DOS - c thirty years

Thirty years ago, on July 27, 1981, Microsoft acquired the rights to the QDOS (Quick and Dirty Operating System) from Seattle Computer Products (SCP) for $ 25,000. QDOS, otherwise known as the 86-DOS, was developed by SCP to work on the Intel 8086 processor, and its development was abandoned by the company after only two months on release 0.1 in 1980 (hence the name). Meanwhile, IBM had plans to launch its first personal computer running CP / M-86, which was the standard OS for the Intel 8086 and 8080 architecture at the time, but could not agree with the developer of CP / M - Digital Research. Somewhat later, IBM began working with Microsoft, which by this time already had experience with MS-DOS & BASIC, and as we can see at the moment, the IBM-Microsoft partnership worked quite successfully for a long time.
