Having discovered the news about the new social network in its feed, there was a desire to learn more about it. There was no information on Habré, so I decided to fill this gap. The topic link was originally conceived, but so far there is not enough karma, so I’ll present a little of what has been leaked to the Internet.
So, a new social network for ultra-orthodox Jews
FaceGLat was launched yesterday (Glatt is a term used for kosher certification of food). By design, it is very much like Facebook, but positions itself not as an alternative, but “as a place for a certain group of people.”
The main difference of this network from the other colleagues in the workshop is a strict separation by gender. Men can not view photos of women and write on their walls, the same applies to the fair sex. Accordingly, even adding photos of the opposite sex to your page is strictly prohibited. When asked about the delimitation, the creator of FaceGlat, 25-year-old Jacob Swiss, replied that "they can meet at home." So far, nothing prohibits registering, indicating a false gender, but according to the author in the future this possibility will be severely limited. As we can see, ultra-Orthodox traditions of dividing people by gender in synagogues, public transport, weddings and other public places are slowly beginning to seep into virtual space.

The second difference from Zuckerberg's brainchild is that there is no advertising on the site. According to the creator, "people who have the fear of God and those who care about the education of their children, can not tolerate ads and images that can be seen on Facebook." At the same time, Jacob Svis does not allow himself any direct statements on this issue towards the creator of Facebook.
