The District Court of Munich accused
Skype of violating the GPL license. One of the VoIP phones sold by Skype worked on Linux, but the GPL text was missing from its delivery, although a license requires it.
The phone is actually owned and supplied by
SMC Networks . Harald Welte, founder of the
gpl-violations.org website, asked the company to resolve this problem, but SMC only included a list with a set of links to the phone, which was not enough.
Actually, that's why Harald went to court, after which he
managed to win the process (acting in Germany). Now Skype delivers license text with every phone.
