AOL acquires Tacoda advertising company

The company Time Warner, which is a division of AOL , said on Tuesday its agreement to acquire Tacoda . Tacoda is an online advertising company that uses behavioral targeting to track Internet user habits.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. However, the person who knows the situation says that AOL paid Tacoda $ 275 million.

Tacoda technologies allow advertisers to deliver messages to specific segments of the audience selected by the types of sites they visited.

These technologies will be in great demand in the future. So, according to the company eMarketer, the market of behavioral directed advertising will grow in 2011 to $ 3.8 billion from last year's mark of $ 350 million.
