As is known, two factors exert a tremendous influence on Russian technical translation: amateur translators and marketing specialists. In this case, we have a mixture of the first with the second. In English, thanks to his analytic and attributive constructions, such names have a clear idea: Yandex Money. Or Google Money, etc. And so we needed to create something similar in Russian. On the logo with the help of design, you can abstract from these problems, but what to do when writing text? Our marketers can already be commended for not writing just Yandex Money , as a perfect amateur would have done. They showed ... GHM ... creative thinking and put an end in the middle. But this is also not the best option, because it is not typical for the Russian language.

Of the four options given in the title, from the point of view of language, the last two are the most acceptable, and from the lowercase letter. According to the rules of the Russian language, a noun can take the form of an adjective without changing the spelling, but in this case it must be supplemented with a hyphen. That is why, say, we have an Internet site or a business magazine. “Internet” and “business” in this case are adjectives (it would be even more correct to write Internet and business, but this is a topic for a separate conversation). If the noun is written with a capital letter, then in the adjective form it is written with a lowercase; this is why an “Internet site” is written, regardless of how you prefer to write “Internet”.

The word "Yandex" can be converted to the same type and write Yandex money. In this case, “Yandex-” is a simple adjective, although it is derived from a brand. This option would be amazingly successful both in terms of the Russian language and in terms of marketing. I wouldn’t even wince if he had been written with a capital letter. But this wild writing with two big letters, a dot in the middle and quotes from two sides, which are required by the classical rules, is very unfortunate and ugly. Compare two sentences:

This product can be paid by Yandex.Money.

Which option is harder, where there is more visual trash, which is intended only to amuse marketers, but not to give the consumer a convenient and understandable term? Immediately obvious.

By the same principle, by the way, it is possible to form many other Russian technical terms: Yandex-maps, Google-maps, Google-documents and even I’m not afraid of this word, Google-documents. Such an option would be a completely amazing version of the translation of Google Docs. The letter “o” in this case plays the role of a bond between the two bases, as in the words “plumbing”, “reinforced concrete”, etc. But for such options, I'm afraid you need to think boldly, and not just creatively, so they are unlikely to appear.
