Hitachi Launches World's First Blu-ray Camcorder

One of the leading Japanese manufacturers of electronics - the company Hitachi - announced its readiness for the imminent release of the world's first video camera, working with Blu-ray discs.

The camcorder is equipped with a 5.3-megapixel CMOS-sensor and a fairly powerful image processor that allows you to shoot MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 video with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is important to note that the camcorder can record video content on both 8 cm BD discs and DVD discs of the same format. In the first case, the user will be given about 7 GB, in the second - several times less. Hitachi was able to implement backward compatibility thanks to a combined drive equipped with two lenses:
