Was rubbish counted or not counted?

Friends, comrades, didn’t I understand something, or in Gmail does garbage also affect the used mailbox volume? For some reason it seemed to me that it does not affect. But I suddenly decided that it was vital for me to clean the basket, and the used drawer volume was reduced by half! So it should be?
