Prepare for the meeting

From time to time, each of us travels to meetings with clients, partners, journalists, and so on. Important people. Have you ever thought about the need to prepare for a meeting, or always this action takes place spontaneously?

I often look at my colleagues who are going to meetings. I marvel at. I smile. The meeting is in an hour, and the presentation is still not that not printed, it is not even ready yet. Not to mention the mood and ownership of the material (in the case of the presentation of a new product).
')
In connection with this, I decided to write about how to prepare for a meeting that takes place on another side, that is, at the client ... and further in the text above. I will write about how best to take THEM at home in the near future.

So let's get started.

Home preparation (one day before the meeting):

1. You clearly know where you are going, on what issue, with whom you meet. It remains only to present the product and himself (even, on the contrary, first himself, and then everything else).
2. Prepare a presentation (or just sketch out the theses of the meeting: a story about yourself, the company; write down the purpose of the meeting; questions you want to ask, etc.).
3. Carefully review the presentation of the product or company that will be presented. Since the time when the presentation was last updated, something could change. Change.
4. Presentation made to show in pdf format. It so happened. Take care of this. Be sure to have a copy in ppt (Power Point) format, or key (Keynote, for Mac OS users). Just in case. If you are printing a presentation, you must have at least 2 copies.
5. Agree on the time and place of the meeting, be sure to check the availability of parking (if you are on your own car), walking time to the office from the metro station and other details. Some offices are in too exotic places.
6. Check for business cards.
7. In the evening. Prepare in advance or think about what you will go to the meeting. The truth that they meet "according to their clothes" has not been canceled. It is important to dress for the weather.

It seems that everything is very simple, but if all this is not done, then you can simply be late, come not there or at the wrong time, etc. Or worse - you can forget something in the office.

It is necessary to start the meeting correctly.

1. Greet the interlocutor and introduce yourself (it does not matter that they know you). This item is especially important if you are dating for the first time.
2. Introduce your colleague if you are not alone. Be sure to voice and FI, and the position he holds in the company. There is usually an exchange of business cards. Do not forget to see what is written on the business card - this is a rule of good taste and business etiquette.
3. Next, the meeting begins. And here comes the magic called communication.

I am sure that there are also pitfalls in preparation for the meeting. If you know, share.
