Engineer Fumiyuki Sato of the Institute of Technical Research and Development at the Ministry of Defense of Japan designed an unusual basketball-sized robot. It is able to keep in one place and rotate around its axis for 8 minutes, and while moving it develops speed up to 60 km / h with a slight noise. The prototype of a futuristic spherical flying object (Futuristic Circular Flying Object) is assembled from parts that are sold in a regular store. The ball consists of 8 steering wheels, 16 spoilers and three gyro sensors, plus a video camera. The total cost of components does not exceed $ 1,400, and the weight of the structure is 348 g.
