A few months ago I presented my geolocation service
inmile.com to Habr's readers, having received excellent feedback (thoughts, bugs, criticism), I sat down to redo it and modify it.
The service did not work for three months (it was closed), and now I open it for beta testing.
')
Naturally, the first people who want to tell about it are habrizhiteli, because it was their ideas and comments that became the starting point for processing.
For those who have not seen the first launch, I will talk about the idea of the project - the user who has come to the site is positioned on the map and within a mile can see the people around him, chat with them.
This is very interesting, in the sense that we are often surrounded by people with whom we are strangers for many years - working in the next office center, living in the nearest courtyard, etc.
In the new version, the idea remained almost the same, but much has changed:- a mile wall was added (there was only a chat);
- there were places (restaurants, cinemas) surrounding you;
- points nearby (meetings, questions on objects, Wi-Fi);
- filters and search all this wealth;
- the ability to move to the specified address (rather than dragging yourself around the map);
- opportunity to be noted in places;
- create points and places;
- internal mail;
- privacy settings ;
- much more in the interface and functionality.
Chat and wall

Wherever you are, there is always a chat and a wall of the surrounding territory, with which you can communicate, ask questions, coordinate people.
Chat created for faster and easier communication in real time. The wall is a more relaxed tool aimed at more thoughtful communication.
People around you can be seen both on the map and in the list below it. By the way, people can now be sorted by date of visiting the area.

Places around
By switching a tab, you can see the places (and in the next tab, the points) that surround you now, sort them by type, if there are too many.
Something like this will look like a picture for Dmitry Anatolyevich,
go to the
inmile :

The map is now able to unfold the entire width of the site, and the sample area can be changed from one mile to three or five.
You can change your location, add to bookmarks.
You can create a new place or point, in this case - you can either specify a point on the map manually or by entering the address of the institution (the system at the address will determine the coordinates).

Inside, a place is a page where you can communicate with its visitors, ask questions, rate and leave your opinions about the place.
To appear in the list of visitors for today, you need to check in this place.

Search
Search works by people, places, points and addresses. For example, in searching by addresses, you can not only find a place on the map corresponding to the address, but also transfer yourself there, and then chat with people there.

Privacy settings
Most of all, last time, residents of Habr wanted privacy settings to protect themselves from maniacs, curious, ex-girls, the dean's office and the military enlistment office.
In the new version, privacy settings have appeared, and they will be refined to a complete victory over the range of persons described above.

Already now there is an opportunity - to prohibit showing you on the map (through settings or unchecking the “I see” box under the map) and in the list of avatars. There is a “Clear All” button that erases the entire existing history of your appearances. Added the function “Clean all on exit”, which works like a button, but cleans everything every time you log out.
In the near future, several more options will appear, including:- Make me completely invisible and inaccessible to the selected user;
- Do not display me in search by people;
- To forbid me to write messages (in general / to individuals);
- Show the list of places where I have been noted for the last 24 hours. With the ability to edit it.
The inmile.com service is still in beta, bugs and glitches are possible, please report them to the PM or to pavel.knx@gmail.com.I tried to test it in all browsers that I could deliver, but there may be some problems with specific versions of browsers.
In the near future some more interesting features will be added. Next week will launch a mobile version for Android and iPhone devices, more easy and convenient.
