Working on my
bulletin board , as well as on any other project, I turned to my own “hint library” - the TEXTS directory on disk D, in which various manuals, code samples, ideas and reference books are randomly arranged. It so happens that my memory is short and it is necessary to refresh some things from time to time.
So here. Turning to my “library of clues,” I often could not find something that was needed, something that I could “love”, but where it was not clear. I decided to install
Personal Search from Yandex and not suffer more. Installed. I indexed (for a long time, since there are a lot of texts in my library). Began to use. Everything seems to be something, but something is not right ...
Poyan what is wrong. The human sense of greed and distrust prevented me from methodically using the service. Seeing only excerpts from the texts, you run into some sensation of the incompleteness of the result. And inevitably, thoughts that “Your computer is not the Internet. The amount of information on his hard drive is not at all unlimited and does not even strive for this indicator. A little mistaken in the request, you doom yourself to search futility. ” Yes, again, the same feeling of alienation from the rest of the world ...

So the idea of a common web-repository of documents and personal articles arose on this mentally unhealthy soil. Search all over this case. BUT! With the search is not on the bodies of documents (difficult to write [if it really is at all] and cumbersome to work), but according to the data entered by the user posting the document.
Suppose a service user loads a certain CSS guide to a host and fills in the fields:
- Type of document (article, of. Manual, abstract, methodological guide, etc.)
- original name
- Author
- Own document description
- Something like tags.
- Keywords (?).
All this is written into the database, along with the date of placement, file size, file type and user ID. And for the subsequent search, keys are set for the fields filled by the user.
Having built a handler to this repository and added a rating system, download statistics, I think it will turn out to be a normal “hint library”
How do you?
