Rambler Cards Restarted in New Quality
Today we present the beta version of the updated Rambler-Kart . This is the first service that is restarted in the new concept and in the new corporate style of "Rambler".
The amount of data provided makes the Rambler-Card, even in the beta version, the most detailed in runet. The service provides detailed cartographic information about 2,000 settlements, with an accuracy of streets and houses. Nobody has such coverage on the market. The basis of the service is a city with a population of more than 100,000 people. For the first time, users will see maps of many such cities on the Internet.

Actual traffic information is provided for 86 cities in the European part of Russia - this is also the widest coverage in runet.
Although the market for interactive maps is highly competitive, users lack quality cartographic information. So, in RuNet it’s not easy to find detailed maps of some large cities or capitals of the Russian republics. Vivid examples - Ulyanovsk, Ulan-Ude or Yoshkar-Ola. Smaller cities with a population of more than 100,000 people were represented by a dot on the map. Our service solves this problem.
A unique feature of the “Rambler-Kart” is that with their help you can create a route both in a particular city and across the whole of Russia - from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad. The total length of roads marked on “Rambler-Kart” is 2.9 million kilometers.
In localities, the service allows you to lay road and transport routes. For example, if a user needs to get to a destination by metro, the service will calculate an approximate travel time for him. The subway map is displayed on top of the city map and the user receives a hint as to which exit he should use.
A total of about 120,000 locations, more than 600,000 organizations and almost 2 million addresses in Russia have been deposited on Rambler Maps.
The presented product is the first step towards the development of a new concept of maps on the “Rambler”. This is an infrastructure project that will be integrated into many products of the combined company. Thanks to the "Rambler Maps", users across Russia will be able to choose how to quickly get to their destination, how to avoid traffic jams, which nearest store to call in, which roads to travel between cities and so on.
In addition to all the innovations, when the beta version was launched, the technology for processing and displaying cartographic information and traffic jams was updated. This made Rambler Maps more functional and more user-friendly.
Updating the service and adding new features will occur constantly. In the coming months, a mobile version of the maps and an openly public API will be presented, which will allow third-party sites to use Rambler Maps on their sites.
Map services on the "Rambler" exist since 2000. Then the project "Rambler-On the Map" was launched - the first Runet maps.
