Undocumented Google Plus Features: Text Layout

Since Google Plus is a beta, there is probably no documentation for its capabilities, but empirically managed to stumble upon text formatting.

There are no explicit text formatting options for writing comments. Attempts to introduce tags or pseudo-tags lead to nothing. It turns out that there are formatting possibilities, and they are built on the principles of wiki markup:

* bold text *
_peak text_
-strikethrough text-

PS After the discovery of the feature, googling showed that people on the Internet also very recently began to “sneak out” this possibility: www.techtin.com/google/how-to-post-bold-italic-strike-through-on-google-plus

===================================

I will allow myself to add a comment on another very well-developed feature on Google+ in the same topic. This is the Google error message page , which is prepared after clicking on the button in the lower right corner: “Leave a review.”

It will be interesting to developers, since such functionality is needed in developing projects, but usually we see on the start-up sites a modest text “Please inform the developers about any deficiencies in functionality on the site ...”. Here - everything that you can wish for even a full commentary on ordinary messages. But, unfortunately - only for support service.

(Explanation: after clicking on the “Leave Feedback” button the whole page is shaded, but we can select any block or any arbitrary field by clicking and dragging the mouse diagonally. The blocks line up into such beautiful framed rectangles, each of which can be deleted by clicking on cross at the top of the block.)

Example of the first feature: gplus.to/spmbt
