- Our site is now available via IPv6.
- We received 4 stars in terms of ipv6 support (RIPE has not yet decided what “5 stars” is).
- All servers have IPv6 connectivity.
Address Allocation Policy
All our users will receive via / 64 networks per server. It does not matter virtual or physical. We will not use the stateless configuration. Thus, everyone will be able to shorten an ipv6 address by at least 3 ... what do they call them (pieces between colons, two octets?)? In short, 12-15 characters. That is, instead of 2a00: ab00: 100: 332: fabc: da92: ae36: 4514 you can use something like 2a00: ab00: 100: 332 :: 2. Still more ugly than ipv4, but already memorized. The second important point: we will not use such pleasant things as ipv6, like router discovery - you will have to prescribe the routing yourself. Why? Because we don’t want to observe any network failures due to the fact that someone declared himself a router. Good old static configuration, guaranteeing no surprises.
/ 64 means that you will not have your own routing (that is, you will not be able to divide it into several / 120, etc.) - all the ip-addresses that you use will be "equal" within your / 64 network.
')
We will issue / 48 (this is 65 thousand / 64 networks) to those who need the ability to create their own subnets and the ability to route them, in accordance with the recommendations of the RIPE. The exact cost / 48 we have not yet determined. This / 48 you can already cut as you please, at least / 52, at least / 120. Most likely, such networks will be of interest to hosters and users with multiple colocation servers connected via their own routers. Although no one bothers to reconfigure one of the dedicited servers into the router and distribute it to the other servers through the local port. In principle, from the moment of issuance / 48 - the fate of networks and addresses from it, and most importantly - the numbering plan of the network - is entirely at your disposal.
What are the money taken from / 48? For the load on routers, “membership” contributions to RIPE ... Each / 48 (and, by the way, any other grid, this is not a question of size) is a line in the routing table. Additional line which incurs an overhead charge on the network equipment. Ordered / 48 you can use for any piece of equipment installed within the data center, of course.
If you have your own network (PI), then we can also route it, and even announce it.
PS to get IPv6 settings for your server, you must go to the server page in the control panel, if there are no settings, write a ticket and the engineers will provide the necessary settings.
