The open blogging platform WordPress has overcome an important milestone: it has already been used on more than 50 million sites. About half of these sites are located on WordPress.com.
In addition, more than 287 million people browse more than 2.5 billion pages on WordPress.com every month, and on average, WordPress.com users create about 500,000 new entries per day and 400,000 new comments, according to WordPress official

Last month, the Tumblr blog platform overtook WordPress.com in the number of blogs, breaking the 20 million mark.
However, unlike Tumblr, WordPress allows users to install and use the platform on their hosting. Thanks to the simplicity and versatility of the platform, WordPress is used not only to create blogs, but also for different types of personal, business and public sites.
