Among the functions of the utility, there are also redirection of users to fake pages (Redirect Admin) and delivery of fake search results (Search Redir) and even a way to place pop-up ads and iPhone banners (Popups Admin and Banner Admin) on an infected computer.
According to Luis Corrons, Technical Director of PandaLabs, “this is one of the most ingenious attacks aimed at a particular community of users, in this case: iPhone users. This is really a complicated, dangerous attack that combines elements of malware (trojan), phishing (fake web page) and even adware (pop-up windows, editing search results, etc.). ”
