About homemade brand disc envelopes

I want to share with you one of the ways to show the client that the work was done by more than 100%.

In developing any material, we transmit the result of our work in electronic form on digital media (CD or DVD) to the client personally or simply in an e-mail without using physical media. It all depends on the agreed method of working with the client.

The essence of the method is simple - we make out a corporate envelope for disks. This option will not only give the impression of better work, but also provide an opportunity to recall the contact details of the developer.

Making the envelope

In order not to re-draw the envelope basis each time, you need to make a blank file in any program convenient for you, as long as the scale is 1 to 1 when printing on a printer. I use the program Adobe Illustrator, and accordingly the workpiece is in my vector.

We give the company

Usually, before starting the design development, the client provides a logo, less often - a brand book. This means that it will not be difficult to do it on his corporate envelope. Because the client does not pay for this work, and we can draw anything we want (within reason) without consulting with the client.

In addition to branded items, I specify the following information:

1. Project name;
2. What is written on the disc;
3. Who is the developer;
4. Developer site.

In fact, you can place more contact information, turning the envelope into a developer’s business card.

Printing and Trimming

We take an ordinary printer, preferably a color one, and print the layout on A4 paper. In order to make the envelope more presentable I use thicker paper, for example, drawing paper.



For cutting, I use a stationery knife and a ruler, so it turns out to be smoother than with scissors.

Then we fold the sides under the ruler and glue the envelope using ordinary paper glue (not PVA).
