Rambler has acquired a 25% stake in the
Begun advertising company. The amount of the transaction was $ 18 million. Thus, Rambler now officially owns 50.1% of Begun’s shares, the remaining 49.9% belong to the former owner,
Finam .
The parties also signed an agreement that all key decisions will be made by a qualified majority of votes (75%) of the board of directors.
Finam acquired 100% of Begun’s shares in 2003 for $ 750,000, and two years later sold a quarter of them to Rambler. At the same time, an option agreement was signed, allowing the holding in the summer of 2007 to bring the share to 51%.

According to Tatyana Kapustina, an analyst from Aton, $ 18 million for a 25% stake in Begun is not a very high price. The option was concluded two years ago, when “Runner” was a small company. Meanwhile, in 2006, the company's turnover amounted to $ 36 million.
