Dear Habravchane!
We are pleased to announce that the domain name registrar REG.RU has opened the reception of preliminary applications for registration of two-character domains in the .SU zone. On July 11, changes to the .SU Registration Rules will take effect, and from 12:00 Moscow time, the two-character domains that are previously prohibited for registration will become available. The total of two-character combinations corresponding to the rules of registration is 2,945. Of these, digital - 100, Latin (including containing digits) - 1,196, Cyrillic (including containing digits) - 1,649.
For the
selection of interesting domains from among the possible ones, we configured the REG.Premium service to work with two-character .SU. The system allows not only to select a domain, but also to submit a preliminary application for its registration in a few minutes.
')

All applications will be sent to the zone register at the time of the start of open registration. REG.RU accepts only one application for one domain name and does not conduct auctions among its clients.
By the way, let's open the secret: two-character domains in Cyrillic .SU could be registered both earlier and now. How did that happen? The fact is that the length of a domain name is determined by punicode :)
Selecting interesting two-character domains in Cyrillic from among those still free in .SU will help you, again, REG.Premium.
From history and statistics ...It is from the .SU domain that the history of the Russian Internet and the entry of Russia into the global virtual space begins. A bit of history:
- The domain zone .SU was registered on September 19, 1990 for use in the USSR.
- By the time the .RU domain appeared in April 1994, several thousand domains were already registered in the .SU zone.
- The old man .SU does not give up before his younger brothers - .RU and. The Russian Federation and continues to grow steadily. According to the statistical service
Stat.reg.ru , currently the total number of domains registered in the .SU zone is more than 94,000, of which more than 80% is delegated. The increase in registered domains in the .SU zone in 2011 was more than 2,500. 30.2% of the domains in the .SU zone are less than a year old, indicating a resurgent domain popularity.
PS
You may have already heard that yesterday the Internet Development Fund, the administrator of the .SU zone, opened the registry and a number of two-character domains, including those requested by REG.RU clients, have already been registered. Today, FRI
announced that registered domains will be removed from the registry . It should be noted that previously there were no such precedents in the Russian national domains and it is not yet known on what basis the registered domains will be deleted.
