The Microsoft Office 365 cloud service, the official presentation of which was last week, is being promoted by the corporation in a rather unusual and even aggressive way.
It became known yesterday that the
University of Nebraska , which until recently had used Lotus Notes from IBM, received $ 250,000 from the Redmond Corporation as part of the official Business Incentive Funds program to migrate users to the new Office 365 cloud product.
This process should last for 12-18 months, and the university itself comments on the fact of the agreement with Microsoft as follows: "... the funds received will be spent on consulting services and licenses to switch from one product to another." Interestingly, an agreement with Microsoft Premier Support is also included in the costs, probably for the most painless change of software infrastructure.

In turn, representatives of the university, although not sure of the reliability of the new cloud system, still claim that switching from Lotus Notes to Office 365 will allow them to save almost 50% on annual operating costs (from 1 million to $ 500,000), and money Microsoft all the more proved to be very helpful.
