Using the iPad 2 with and without the Digital AV Adapter
Good day. Today I would like to talk with you, discuss and maybe tell something about the use and connection of the iPad 2 to the TV using the Apple Digital AV Adapter. Of course, it’s no secret that Apple introduced iOS 5 at WWDC and made it clear to us that now we don’t need this cord at all. With the release of iOS 5 it will be possible to transfer a picture from your iPad to the TV screen without using a cord. As an ordinary user, I saw the possibility of displaying all my actions on TV, immediately after the presentation of the iPad 2 (in March), quickly noticed and acquired this miracle! The price, of course, upset. That is to say, more than two times more than in the official Apple Store. But what can you do, ran to experience!
Here is what it looks like for those who do not know: The first problem I encountered is the size of the picture. Roughly speaking, cropped square. Immediately I got into Apple Support, started calling friends, even called the TV man, it turned out it was impossible to do it on the whole screen. Alternatively, you can stretch the picture directly on the TV, but exactly the size of the screen, the picture still will not. I, even this failed. A couple of hours trying to find a button that expands the picture on the screen and to no avail. My Pioneer does not support this feature.
Then I started to play, climbed the program, in general, nothing interesting. But! As it turned out, all videos run in full screen Full HD. Perhaps because there were only clips in Blu-Ray. Of course I played a lot through the TV. Only one large-scale impression remains - Real Racing 2. At the time when I had already played enough, an update of the wonderful game was released in the App Store. I see and see: “Real Racing 2 HD for iPad 2 with 1080p support is available for download.” When playing in 1080p, the picture is transmitted at 30 frames per second, and the track map is displayed on the device with tracking of your position in real time. ')
The quality of the update is immediately noticeable:
It was the first and in my experience the last game that could be played on the big screen in a wonderful quality. I almost threw PS3.
Now let's talk about wireless content playback. This introduction I have been waiting for a long time. Since the days of the iPhone 3GS. I remember there was some kind of tweak in Cydia, but it never worked for me properly. In this situation, monitoring will occur using Apple TV. By the way, buy a must, a very useful thing. While I noticed one minus, I do not pull .mkv and .avi. Actually, why be surprised, then, they are Apple. In general, more to the point, here is a video demonstrating the work of what I am talking about:
That's what Apple itself says:
Surprise the audience in a conference room, classroom or lounge. AirPlay now supports video duplication. This means that you can transfer any data from iPad 2 to your HDTV via Apple TV — over a secure wireless network. Your viewers will see on the big screen everything that shows the display of your iPad - even if you rotate the iPad or change the scale of the photos.

I am not yet able to put iOS 5 on my iPad, since the problem with the transfer of software, and not really it burns to me. The cord suits one hundred percent. In conclusion, I can only say one thing, think carefully before buying the Apple Digital AV Adapter. If you want to connect it to the iPhone, then I want to upset you, from the iPhone, you will not be able to display everything on the screen. Very small range of possibilities. So buy an iPad 2 and wait for the release of iOS 5.
