Skype Day on the main.
Good news finally came from Skype - today they
announced an update of the Android application with video chat support
in their blog .
Video calls require Android OS version 2.3 and higher and a front camera. Four devices are currently supported, two of which are ours: the
Sony Ericsson Xperia neo and the
Sony Ericsson Xperia pro (Sony Ericsson Xperia neo
on the Market ).
')
In addition, all new Sony Ericsson smartphones equipped with a front camera - that is,
Xperia mini pro and
Xperia ray , will support video calls by default - as soon as they go on sale.
Video calls in Skype for Android work both on WiFi and on 3G connection. You can download the application from the
Android Market or via the
Skype.com/m link if you go there from your phone.
Sony Ericsson has accumulated all the best trends this year: devices on the latest version of Android 2.3 out of the box,
an open bootloader , an
update for the Xperia X10 , an abundance of partners, including game manufacturers, NFC solutions and, in fact, Skype.
