New Intel Core 2 Extreme X7800 Mobile Processor

Intel introduced its first dual-core mobile Intel® Core ™ 2 Extreme processor. The release of new products is timed to the first anniversary of the advent of Intel processors for servers, desktops and laptops based on the Intel® Core ™ microarchitecture.

The dual-core Intel Core 2 Extreme X7800 processor for mobile PCs, both cores of which operate at a frequency of 2.6 GHz, have the power saving features necessary for laptops. Intel Core 2 Extreme X7800 performance is 28% higher compared to the previous generation of similar processor. In addition, in Intel Core 2 Extreme for mobile PCs, a lock was removed that limited the frequency of the processor bus.

Not left without announcements and the desktop segment. In this niche, Intel introduced a number of new processors, including one of the most advanced - the quad-core Intel® Core ™ 2 Extreme QX6850 processor. Its clock frequency is 3.0 GHz, and the new faster system bus operates at a frequency of 1333 MHz. The launch of the new Intel® Core ™ 2 Duo and Intel® Core ™ 2 Quad processors was also announced.

The Intel Core 2 Extreme X7800 mobile processor with a frequency of 2.6 GHz and a Level 2 cache of 4 MB is already available for OEMs at a price of $ 851. According to the company, laptops based on this processor will hit the market in the next two weeks. New Intel desktop processors are also available for OEMs. End users will be able to purchase products based on them for the next two to three weeks.
