On the ISS will install HD cameras for live broadcast

Astronauts on the ISS often post photos taken from orbit in their microblogs on Twitter and some other resources. Videos of rather high quality, sent from the same place, from orbit, are also regularly posted. But of course, all this can not be compared with the broadcast HD-video stream in real time. And soon all this will become a reality.

The fact is that the company UrtheCast (heard about this?) Is going to install two HD cameras on the ISS, which will transmit the image from orbit in real time. Cameras are equipped with powerful enough optics, so the video should be of interest to many.

One of the cameras will transmit video with a quality of 5 square meters per pixel, and the second with a resolution of 0.27 square meters per pixel. The shooting speed of both cameras is about 4 frames per second. Not so much, but this is quite enough for an acceptable picture. The video can be viewed on the website, which will open approximately in 2012.
