Yes, Lulz Security announced their retirement from the scene, but the lulz in the field of information security continues: this time the Electronic Arts servers are hacked. This became known yesterday, after company representatives reported a burglary. It seems that gaming companies are of particular interest to hackers (at least this month), because many well-known companies have suffered, including Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Square Enix and Bethesda Softworks. In one case, when the Sega servers were hacked, LulzSec even promised to punish the burglars. But, as we see, their promise is suspended in the air, and the work of the lulz lovers is continued by other teams.
Representatives of Electronic Arts described the carried out attack as “technically complex”, which, in general, is natural - it is unlikely that the server of such a company can be hacked without a certain amount of knowledge and skills. Not all of the company's servers suffered, but only those of them that were related to BioWare (I played more than a year in one of the games of this company, Neverwinter Nights, including any additions, sequels, etc.) Traditionally, this year, hackers received passwords, email addresses and birth dates for BioWare users.

Somehow, the experts who are studying this hack came to the conclusion that the hacking was done by the same guys who hacked Nintendo. In addition, some experts suspect all the same LulzSec. But the latter did not take responsibility for hacking, moreover, the guys have already stated that they will not do anything at all, even they will not support their site.
Electronic Arts has already sent out messages to all users of the affected services, in which customers are urged to change access passwords. In addition, Electronic Arts is now taking urgent measures to block the threat - a new security system is being applied, the reasons that contributed to the penetration of hackers to the company's servers are being investigated.
