Transition to LibreOffice

The other day, the final Debian transition to LibreOffice is over.

LibreOffice has previously been delivered to testing and unstable, and since 23.06 a backport is available for Debian 6.0 "Squeeze".

René Engelhard, Manteyner LibreOffice at Debian and a member of the LibreOffice's Engineering Steering Committee , said that, in his opinion, both the users and the project as a whole would benefit from this transition.

If you are using the stable branch, to install LibreOffice you must add the squeeze-backports repository to your sources.list repository (unless it is already included)
deb backports.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main

After that, update the list of packages and proceed to the installation, convenient for you.

If you have previously installed OpenOffice, it will be automatically deleted. Depending on the DE used, you will also have the libreoffice-gtk, libreoffice-gnome or libreoffice-kde packages installed.
