The Japanese have developed a five-finger manipulator as a replacement for a conventional mouse.
Over the past few years, various companies and simply “Kulibins” have repeatedly tried to reinvent the bicycle computer mouse. Yes, the familiar manipulator may not be as convenient for everyone as some projects, but in order for the new type of manipulator to become familiar and comfortable, you need to retrain. And this, just, very few people like it. But the inventors do not give up, and now the new type of manipulator is presented by the Japanese company Double Research & Development Co. What the developers did is not much like a regular mouse.
This is a manipulator for all five fingers, which, according to the development team, is suitable for everything - both for managing 3D models in a graphic editor, and for playing. Sensors located at the tips of the fingers of the manipulator can recognize both pressing of each person’s finger and pressing force. In addition, the system recognizes the position in space for each finger. It is interesting that you can connect two such devices at once, and “steer” a computer with two hands at once. ')
The Japanese showed how 3D CAD can be controlled with this device. In their opinion, the five-finger manipulator is suitable for working with such software much better than an ordinary mouse. In addition, the company Double Research & Development Co. created a robot hand with five fingers, which is also controlled by this manipulator.
In the video below, the Japanese demonstrate the operation of their device. A lot of Japanese, but there are English subtitles. Anyone who studies Japanese can get
