Announcement of the Android hackathon in St. Petersburg on July 2-3, 2011

The popularity of the Android mobile platform is growing in Russia with amazing speed. Manufacturers increasingly delight us with new devices, and developers - incredible applications.
In support of the growing developer interest in mobile technology, the GTUG SPB community, with the support of Google and HTC, is running an Android hackathon.
The organizational partner is Ingria Business Incubator.
The two-day event is aimed at building teams, presenting ideas and developing prototypes. Hackathon will be held in St. Petersburg on July 2nd and 3rd.
Two teams that have developed the best projects will be awarded with HTC Flyer tablets, which were provided by our sponsor - HTC!
As an expert on the hackathon, Dmitry Lukashev will be the lead mobile platform engineer at Yota. Dmitry will answer specific questions on Android and help write literate code. Last year, Dmitry and a colleague read three excellent seminars on Android for the GTUG group.
The main criteria for success of projects participating in the hackathon are:
1. progress in 2 days
2. technical complexity of the task
3. simplicity and efficiency of implementation
4. usability and overall interface design

Participants do not have to come up with an idea; you can join an existing team (http://goo.gl/NnLxL). However, we remind you that there should be a laptop with installed and configured Android development tools.
