Hackers are at a dead end - the iPhone just does not unlock

Since the start of iPhone sales, hackers have been trying to unlock the phone, in particular, to teach it to work in networks other than AT & T. There are already some successes in weaning off “bad habits”: two iPhone activators were created, allowing to use Wi-Fi in it and a player with other functions of the phone. But it’s not yet possible to get the Apple phone to work in third-party EDGE- and GSM-networks and, apparently, it will not be possible soon ...

Hackers hoped that by changing the boot loader, they could unlock communication functions. But this option turned out to be a dead end , since the loader code must be signed with Apple's 1024-bit secret RSA key. This information appeared at the end of last week in the #iphone IRC channel.

Now the hacker team from the #iphone channel is going to learn how to create programs for the phone. With the ability to write programs for the iPhone, hackers can write software to unlock the phone. In general, things are moving :)
