Evernote Developer Contest: Application Ideas

Evernote is in full swing, hundreds of developers have begun to create the next generation of applications that will work with our service. Many already have great ideas that they are going to bring to life, others are still looking for inspiration. To those who have not yet decided, we would like to suggest some ideas that arose from us or were voiced by our users.

Application ideas with note taking

If you have certain hobbies, hobbies, activities in which you use Evernote to store certain type of notes, then why not create an application with the appropriate functionality for other users with similar hobbies. Surely among the 10 million people there are such. It seems to us that over time there will appear a whole category of products integrated with the service, which will specialize in creating and storing this or that structured information in Evernote. Such applications can be integrated with other services: maps, calendars or social networks to provide the user with additional information.

Below we list examples of ideas and themes of applications that could help the user to save interesting and valuable information:

Peek helps users get more value from notes already in Evernote. The general idea of ​​successful integration of this type can be formulated in one simple message. In the case of Peek, this is “Evernote helps you learn material.” And here are some examples of other ideas:

• “Remember last year in detail” - receiving daily letters with notes in Evernote, made a year ago;
• “Create an album or a mood palette ” - extracting notes from a given notebook and forming a beautifully designed album based on them;
• “Find a proven restaurant nearby” - displaying a list of restaurants located near the current location, notes about which the user saved in Evernote;
• “Generate bibliography” - instant creation of a list of sources for a research project from the metadata of relevant notes containing copied content on the Internet;
• Create Presentation - Turning Evernote notes into a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation.
