"Poster" updated in the style of Web 2.0

A couple of hours ago, we reported on the update "Posters" . Perhaps, for the first time, one of the major Russian media holdings launched a full-featured Web 2.0-style website: with ratings-votes, blogs and UGC, even with the support of Google Maps. On the development (it lasted about a year), apparently, quite substantial financial resources were spent. We have listed the reasons why this event can really be classified as important. It is not surprising that even Spout writes about this right on the opening day.

The employee of this publishing house urbansheep urbansheep tells the best about the opening of the “Posters”. He, by the way, says that this is the seventh release of the portal. As you can see, the development took away a lot of time and effort. It is strange that the publishing house did not open the site in the form of a beta version, as is customary for such projects. It could have happened, probably six months ago.

The visual differences between the old and the new “Poster” are shown in the big screenshot .

This is what urbansheep writes urbansheep.

* First, the information is now on the "face" give out twice as much as before.

* Instead of a single pillar, zoning appeared in the form of blocks by topic, and there are links to major events or objects in this topic.

* Navigation was significantly cut - instead of two menus and schedules, there was only one menu left and the “Schedule-Catalog-Location” navigation block, which has no official name, and I call it “Razvodilkoy” (because this is one of the main means for a visitor going in a specific topic).

* A huge block under the cap is an excellent tool for announcing the most important events.

* Finally, it seems, advertising has become smaller in volume (apparently temporarily - judging by the empty right column).

Former themes (movies, concerts, restaurants) have not gone away. On the page of each of them there will be a similar block structure, with texts and announcements depending on the context. Look at them has become more pleasant, and easier to understand.

Now everything is functioning almost normally, and the funniest thing so far is the bugs in the layout and design, plus some flaws in the interfaces, and artifacts that arise after the migration of the entire poster database of objects, reviews, blogs and users to the new platform.

All or almost everything will be fixed in the future.

Today - the last edits, Welcome Page should still appear with a description of the main tasty things in the new version. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow - the passage through the dense layers of the atmosphere, when you have to face a lot of new corrections, bug reports, reviews and swearing. By Thursday, the main problems will be clear, and then the site can already be considered officially open and soaring, and Afisha Digital after a short break will quietly turn to work on the next versions.

The just-opened Afisha blog provides a colorful comparison of how much the new Afisha differs from the old one:

You can think of it this way: we used to have a Volkswagen Beetle, and now something like the International Space Station on the chassis of a Ferrari.

"Poster" was fifteen times more useful than before.

Firstly, we have a universal five-star object evaluation system, which will greatly simplify the search for interesting sights and delicious food. One star - horror, horror, five - great, brilliant, buonissimo! Putting stars is easy, but try not to abuse the extremes.

Secondly, now write reviews of movies, performances, exhibitions and restaurants on a par with reviewers "Posters" can anyone who is able to compose a text longer than 150 characters. It doesn’t matter whether you prefer the Beatles or Kobzon, finish school or change your fourth dozen, married, or live a baby. It is important that your grades and texts help others spend their free time more meaningfully.

That's not all. Now we have Google Maps to search places more conveniently and quickly; improved version for mobile phones; many regional sites; small shop; several blogs.

Now that the site is working, we will improve it. In the coming months, you will see a lot of interesting and even stunning innovations. As Douglas Adams said, don't panic! We will tell about everything and explain everything. If you want to hear about our news first, subscribe to RSS.

Remember that with the new "Posters" just removed the original packaging, and not all errors have been fixed. We will be very grateful if you report these errors - for example, a comment on this blog. Tell us what you like and what you don’t like, complain about wrong schedules and missing restaurants, curse the speed of work, the inconvenient interface, ugly pictures. We probably will not be able to respond to every letter in detail, but everything will be read, examined and will be until the very last cry.

All new features of Web 2.0 are listed on the “Poster” page . Instruction manual .
