Water droplet grid

Swiss artist Pe Lang designed an electronically controlled pipette that methodically creates a 21x21 matrix of water droplets on a textured surface. Due to the surface tension, the droplets are almost spherical with a diameter of 3.3 mm. The thing is absolutely useless, but it looks beautiful.
