Microsoft received permission to buy Skype from the US Antimonopoly Committee
Despite the fact that many Skype users are sure that Microsoft is already driving the purchased company (probably a minority of Habré), the software giant has not come too close to managing VoIP service. Much remains to be done, and only in a few months the corporation will take full ownership of this company. But one serious obstacle has already been overcome: yesterday the US Antimonopoly Committee gave permission to complete the transaction.
Antimonopolschikov became aware of this decision after this committee posted a decision on its website. These decisions are published regularly, in relation to various transactions, and in this case the decision is positive. ')
I recall that in May, Microsoft, quite unexpectedly announced the acquisition of Skype for 8.5 billion dollars. This transaction is the largest in the history of the software giant. The acquisition, according to plan, will help Microsoft become a leader in the field of VoIP. Skype will appear on most Microsoft online services, including PC services, WP7, Xbox.
Now Skype has about 145 million active users (those that work with the service at least once a month).
