Apple has patented a technology that will block the illegal filming of concerts and movies on camera devices from iOS.

At the same time, no additional modules need to be built into the devices, it is enough just to embed this function in the new firmware. This means that this ban will also affect the owners of previous generations of iPhones, iPods and iPads.
The technology itself to the genius is simple. The fact is that the frequency range of digital cameras is wider than that of the human eye. In particular, cameras, unlike eyes, can perceive an infrared signal. You can see this for yourself by sending an ordinary TV remote control to your phone’s camera. Thus, a coded infrared signal can be transmitted to the camera of your iPhone, which you will not even notice. When receiving this signal, the iPhone simply will not save the recorded video or snapshot. All that human rights activists need to do is to install a transmitter on the stage, and then the owners of Apple devices will not be able to repeat the “feat” of Medvedev =)


But do not be so upset. The patent also indicates more useful features of the new technology. For example, if you install such a transmitter near any sights, then photographing it, you will immediately receive useful information about it. A sort of infrared QR code.
