Report on meeting Apple Developers Community # 5
On May 26, the fifth meeting of the Apple Developers Community took place. A new place, new faces, but still the same concept: robbing the rich, giving the poor professionals to share their experience with the participants in the development of the iPhone and iPad.

The meeting was opened by Alexander Cherny ( alexchernyy ) with a review of the fourth version of XCode. He told about the features of the new interface: Jump bar, which allows you to quickly run through the code, a new level of the workspace hierarchy, a beautiful blue mesh in Interface Builder, and many, many other things. Alexander paid much attention to refactoring, with which Xcode always had problems.
And here I should have finished a brief overview of the report of Alexander, but I cannot say a few words about the prepared presentation. Although, a couple of words are obviously not enough for me, so see for yourself one of the slides.

The next speaker was our special guest from jetBrains - Maxim Shafirov . He spoke about AppCode editor, which has been developing for more than 10 years and is almost the only alternative to Xcode. There was no release yet, so the editor can be downloaded for free from the official site . In the future (secretly) a copy will cost about $ 100.
Maxim demonstrated why it is worth using their product, showed many convenient popups, which greatly facilitate navigation and work with the code.

The meeting was concluded by a speaker from DataArt - Roman Chernyshev . He spoke about what each customer wants and how to maintain contact with him through the so-called human interface. How to find him and maintain a relationship with him? How to build a respectful relationship with the boss while not stepping over the interface? On this and many other things in the report of Roman.
I would like to thank the company DataArt , for providing the premises and assistance in installing the teleconference with Voronezh. It was an interesting experience and in the future we will try to expand the boundaries of ADCSpb throughout Russia.
