Again about IE6, fanaticism, end-users and client-oriented web development market

We are helping with hosting a client to whom some craftsmen from a distant small town have made a site.

I remember from a small experience of communication (they put it on the host) that the guys all the time bawled and climbed onto the conflict. As a result, the client to the death quarreled with them.

Kosjakov really was a lot. For example, all personal data entered into the application form was carefully stored in the tmp folder with the names of files with the surnames of people in Cyrillic. Obviously, to make things easier. Google, of course, figured out. The end is a bit predictable. The scandal even reached us, we did the same hosting account.
')
One of the parables in the town was the inaccurate display of the site in IE6. Swore for a long time. What ended I do not know. More precisely did not know.

This morning the same client calls me and says that the site does not open for them. Yandex opens, and the site does not open. And they said their partners called and said that the site was supposedly closed for renovation.

I check. Works. I check the domain. Delegated. I check other sites on the same hosting. All OK.
I ask a screenshot (told how to do it).
I get the picture.
What is there? That's right, a colorful offer to upgrade your browser.

Will explain.
The picture is clear, beautiful, written in Russian. But I had to spend 10 minutes trying to explain:
- what is a browser and why is it outdated?
- that there are other browsers
- that their client, who is sure that the site is “not working”, saw the same inscription and now they need to warn him (ALL)
- where did it come from (guys from a small town did not warn about their original solution in the area of cross-browser layout)
- that you have to put up with it

Think about it. The site was considered a threesome. Director of pre-retirement age and 2 managers. Stupid girls. Surely girls have a wall in contact and a page on the dating site.
A picture is not understood.
Thought over.
I got a call.

This is not about them post. Not about stupid clients. This is about us. About the studio. About the market.
About customer focus.
