OneCare 2.0 supports home networks and remote backup
Seven months after the official release of Windows Live OneCare 1.5, Microsoft began publicly testing the second version of this web program for PC maintenance, backup and virus protection. In the second release, the tools for home networks, including wireless ones, were added to the OneCare package. Since the average home network size is 2.5 computers, the typical OneCare license is now valid for three PCs.
Among the innovations of OneCare 2.0 is the ability to track the system files of Internet Explorer and automatically clean them of the changes made, as well as automatically enable the System Restore feature, even if it was manually disabled. There is an additional program Start Time Optimizer, which tracks the use of all programs and recommends which of them can be safely removed.
A centralized backup of all computers on the network was also added. Now Microsoft is testing the function of automatic backup to a remote server on the Internet, as well as remote storage of photos. This service is planned to be paid.
