Hacker group Lulz Security reached the sites of Bethesda Softworks and the US Senate

Probably, 2011 will be called the “year of the hacker” - the activities of various hacker groups are very strongly manifested. In April, hacking of Sony servers began, and now it seems that this company is being "kicked" by all and sundry. Then the hackers took on other companies, banks, including Citibank, the fourth largest bank in the United States, plus the IMF. Quite often, you hear about the achievements of the Lulz Security group - and yesterday it became known that this group got to Bethesda Softworks (it’s not like that for them) and the US Senate.

In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of their own work, hackers posted in open access a part of the documentation stolen from the Senate.gov website, including those documents that are relevant to the problem of hackers and cyber attacks on the United States. A little earlier, the authorities of this country declared that the authorities would regard any significant kibarataku against the United States as military action. More information about this statement and the concept of cyber-aggression against the United States can be found here - “International Strategy on Cyberspace” .

As for Bethesda Softworks, the hackers were able to obtain personal data of users who play the games of this company. True, the management of Bethesda Softworks declares the safety of the financial data of its customers, who seem not to have suffered. Perhaps this is true, but the same Sony also initially denied hackers getting financial information.

Hackers got access to Bethesda servers about two months ago, as representatives of Lulz Security stated in their appeal. Two weeks ago, hackers received 200 thousand user accounts. This information will not be posted in the public domain, in any case, hackers say this in a statement.

I wonder if this series of large-scale hacks will lead to the fact that companies, both public and private, will pay more attention to protecting their servers? Or, as always, the thought “will not touch us?” Will act.
