Free Cheese or Why so many reviews of Chinese Android tablets?

Hi Habr!

There is a small investigation hiding under habrakat, without references and names, but with results and observations.

Suspicions

I think lately it was not difficult to notice the unusual "yield" on the reviews of Chinese tablets on Habrahabr. I usually enjoy reading about new products, but in this case I was haunted by a strange sensation of the amazingness of what was happening. The overlooked tablets, if anything, stood out among others, only by price, and the authors invariably followed the scenario: “I heard it somewhere recently” —– “bought it here” –– “made a review”. My doubts increased many times when I found one of the authors of these reviews in the “read only” mode (after all, you can only get there for violating the rules of the site, and judging by the reviews and comments, the person was probably good). However, "a holy place is never empty" and reviews of the same type and format have risen from the ashes, but under the nickname of the next author.

Confirmations

All this was not enough for habrapost until I made a couple of purchases (in the same Chinese store where many of the reviewed tablets were purchased) and did not find an insert in the box in Russian with the following content (I quote excerpt from it, spelling is kept ):

“If you leave your review about us in other social networks and drop us a link, you will receive a coupon for a discount of $ 2.

We offer you alternative sites: Habrahabr.ru , Facebook, Twitter, VK. If you put your positive feedback on these sites, you will receive a gift coupon of at least $ 5. For the promotion of our site, you can receive a commission of 7-9.5%. You can find out more at vip @ ........ com »

A little surprised, I went to the site of the store and found even more details. Encouraging users to buy on their website, the "secret agent" of the store receives:

But the payment for attracting traffic is much more modest:

The Chinese scope is immediately felt, half a million visitors per day is already a full-fledged habraeffect.

How are “attracted users” defined? It turns out that it’s enough to add to the link to the store page, at the end, through the underscore, an individual type identifier:
"Http: //% link% _% unique identifier number% .html".

Effects

Walking along the links in the habratopic reviews I was relieved to find the required “unique identifiers” there. Now you can sleep peacefully, the solution is found. And let the conclusions Habrachitel makes himself.

UPD: I am sincerely glad that my proposal to draw conclusions independently received support in the comments and I see both positive and negative reviews on this type of reviews.

UPD2: At the request of readers:
