In its research report, presented on Monday, investment company Piper Jaffray expressed conviction that Apple will soon introduce a new generation of iPods, focused on video playback and built using the same technology as the iPhone mobile phone.
Most of the features of the iPhone will soon be available in iPods, according to analysts from Piper Jaffray. In particular, it is expected the release of players with a large amount of memory, operating on the basis of OS X, during or shortly before the Macworld event, which will be held in January next year, reports
MakTsentr referring to Appleinside.com.
These players will have similar iPhone capabilities for touch control and multimedia functionality, but will not have the wireless capabilities to connect to the Internet. Such a move, according to analysts, will be able to curb the decline in the share of players in favor of the iPhone and at the same time increase Apple's profits.
The prediction of Piper Jaffray, apparently, is based on the recent performance of Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs) in front of Apple employees, which mentioned the new iPods based on OS X that are in development.
