Integration Examples: Evernote Peek, the first app for Smart Cover on iPad
You may have already heard that along with the new iPad version, Apple has released an interesting accessory for the tablet - the Smart Cover . Among the features include a magnetic mount and an unusual design, which allows you to use it not only to protect the screen, but also to support the device in convenient positions for entering text and viewing video. But we were interested in him that Smart Cover can be used to interact with the iPad. If you cover the screen with a cover, it turns off the screen, and vice versa immediately opens the lock window when opened. And we had a question: is it possible to use the capabilities of Smart Cover to manage the application and, using our API, to make Evernote even more useful?
Allow me to present what we finally got - Evernote Peek .

What is Evernote Peek?
Evernote Peek is a free application designed to help students, students and all those who train their memory with questions and answers. The Peek interface seems very intuitive to us. Once you connect Peek to your Evernote account and choose the necessary material for learning. Then you can simply close the screen using the Smart Cover and open the cover to see the question. To find out the answer, just roll the cover completely. To go to the next prompt, close it again and repeat the process.
This is a completely new way of working with the application, but at the same time it is understandable in the same way as paging.
Learn your own notes and more.
Peek turns Evernote notebooks into educational material. When you launch the app, click on the Add button and log in to Evernote. The application will show you two tabs with notebooks. The first tab contains common notepads from Evernote and StudyBlue . The second presents your personal notebooks. Select the desired one and add it to the Peek. Once the notebook is loaded, click on it, close the screen with the cover and open it to start work.
Creating educational materials Making quizzes and tutorials in the form of questions and answers with Peek is very convenient. Log in to Evernote and create new notepads. Then add a few notes there. The headlines of the notes will be questions, and the contents of the notes - the answers. In order for everything to look beautiful, we recommend limiting the title of the note to about 50 characters, and the text - to 250 characters.
IPad Quick Setup We recommend the following iPad settings for working with the application: it is better to set the screen brightness by about 75%, and also disable iPad orientation locking. And that's all, you can start self-testing.
The development of Peek was an interesting project for us, a good example of integration with the help of the Evernote API, which extends the functionality of the service in a narrow area.
