Netcraft Web Server Survey for June 2011, the share of the Microsoft IIS web server on all domains on the Web continued to fall and from May 18.37% dropped to 16.82%. This is the lowest figure since late 1997.
Nginx has the third place (6.55%).
True, the label at the top is a bit subjective, because it takes into account the millions of parked domains, which are easily transferred from IIS to Apache and back by upgrading to several servers in the data center. Such jumps have happened several times over the past fifteen years, as seen in the graph.

A more objective indicator is the share of IIS and Apache on a sample of a million of the largest sites on the Internet. However, Microsoft has the worst result here: only 15.8% in June 2011. By the way, apart from the general “Other” column, the Nginx web server is also in third place (6.93%) in this category, confidently gaining momentum.
