If you are not using Linux or Skype, then this post is not for you.
If you have set up a bridge in Pidgin and now all 3.5 Skype contacts are on your list, then this post is not for you.
If you are satisfied with the way Skype groups group KWin, and it’s not embarrassing that they, like in the taskbar, took everything together and occupied the place, then this post is not for you either.
But if you are actively using Skype, you are actively switching between several kons and you want a convenient native interface, then I recommend to get acquainted.

When I developed the previous version , I rested my forehead against the wall. All attempts to fix the shoals rested on “smart” window managers, who knew better than me where windows should be, and on the taskbar curves (yes, gnome-panel among them) ignoring SKIP_TASKBAR_HINT if it was not installed before the window appeared on the screen. You know, I gave up then.
But last week someone pushed me on the subway crossing and I flew down the stairs. At the bottom of the flight, at the moment of a forehead impact on the wall, at that wonderful moment, I realized that there really is no wall. No, I was later told at the hospital that the wall was in fact, and even concrete. But I am now talking about that metaphorical wall from the previous paragraph. The bottom line is that if the terms are all so angry and miserable, that the window manager, that taskbar, you just need to take and build your X11 display with preference and courtesans. When I was able to pick up a laptop, I began to select the means to create my own lunar module. Glance fell on such a wonderful thing as Xephyr. Besides the fact that it is a full-fledged X-server, it also knows how to support those extensions that may not be on the main. This is in case of running on a calculator, apparently. In general, the thing turned out to be very brisk, even normally it digests video calls. A couple of days to write something like a window manager with a taskbar, and now the software is ready for testing and operation. In the video above you can see it in action.
In general, the whole thing needs to be tested strongly, mainly in terms of accounting for all dependencies, because besides kefir, mono, GTK bindings and NDesk-d-bus client, there are all sorts of xmodmap, xrandr and cvt. Also I will be glad if someone makes packages for other distros.
Identified incompatibility with 64-bit systems: Skype, infection, 32-bit. Patches will be tomorrow.
