World IPv6 Day on
June 8, 2011 is scheduled inevitably. On this day, the largest Internet companies -

Oversan-Mercury is now fully compliant with the requirements of IPv6. RIPE courses completed and a block of addresses received / 32. In the process of implementation, it turned out that there are still many problems in the interaction of “multi-vendor hardware” over IPv6 routing protocols and other technologies. Somewhere IPv6 is not supported by hardware, somewhere there is no IPv4 / IPv6 address translation, somewhere there is tunneling. However, all difficulties are solved and currently we have established IPv6 interaction with the largest Russian and foreign operators, as well as being present at the Moscow point of traffic exchange

In all
Skalaxi virtual machines, both Linux and Windows, a unique IPv6 address (
global scope , not to be confused with the “local” link-local scope) appeared on the external network interfaces. You can find it with the command

You can verify that your machine is accessible externally via IPv6, for example, using
online IPv6 ping .
If you want your users to access your website via IPv6, you need to add a new
AAAA DNS entry in the control panel for your domain, for example:
example.ru AAAA 2a01:a900:1:25b:cc00:2ff:fe5b:51
In addition, you most likely need to add a
couple of lines to your web server's configuration so that it starts accepting IPv6 connections. How to do this, it is better to look in the documentation.
You can now test IPv6 performance. Most Linux network commands have their counterparts for working with IPv6:

In Windows, for working with IPv6, standard commands start with the

As you may have guessed, all the sites of our company -

oversun.ru - are available via IPv6. DNS servers ns3.scalaxy.ru and ns4.scalaxy.ru, which host zones configured through the control panel, are also ready to accept requests over IPv6.
Oversun-Mercury datacenter customers who place their equipment in it will be able to start using IPv6 as early as July.
